Already a clinical and market leader, the PruittHealth organization will benefit from deploying Daylight IQ™, a Software as a Service (SaaS) product. Through a series of integrated, disease-based clinical protocols that significantly empower the entire clinical team, Daylight IQ™ identifies changes in condition at the point of care. Subsequently, by highlighting abnormal findings and providing the nursing team with appropriate interventions and/or physician communication, the PruittHealth clinical staff can quickly resolve potential additional health challenges, ultimately reducing unnecessary hospital readmissions.
"At PruittHealth, our key priority is delivering quality care and providing peace of mind to our patients, residents and their families," noted Neil L. Pruitt, Jr., Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, PruittHealth. "To that end, we're excited to provide the additional care management technology of Daylight IQ™ to our team. Our strategy for 2014 includes a focus on further reducing avoidable hospital readmissions and providing a more comprehensive quality of care than had previously been possible."
The Daylight IQ™ product suite focuses upon improving quality of care by closely tracking changes in condition and initiating appropriate clinical interventions. Key components of the product suite include an Automated Disease Care Guide Library, a Dynamic Nursing Assessment and Compare Module, all of which work in conjunction with each resident's disease profile. It's important to note that utilizing Daylight IQ™ reduces 30-day hospital readmissions and premature mortality by more than 50%.
"As the immediate Past Chair of the Board of Governors of the American Health Care Association (AHCA), Mr. Pruitt and the PruittHealth organization enjoy a well-deserved reputation for providing exceptional care to the marketplace," noted Edward J. Tromczynski, Chief Executive Officer, COMS Interactive, LLC. "The COMS team is pleased to be assisting another respected industry leader in their endeavor to further enhance the clinical care provided to the communities in which they serve."
Industry data shows that the average nursing home resident has a complicated health profile, including one primary disease and up to eight secondary diseases or afflictions. Over 70% of re-hospitalizations from a skilled nursing facility are due to a secondary or new disease progression. By providing early detection of an individual's change in condition, Daylight IQ™ highlights potential problems and offers caregivers the opportunity to respond, preventing further progression of the illness or affliction.
