ROME, Ga., Jan. 28, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- On December 17, shortly before we began the new year, the skilled nursing and rehabilitation center formerly known as Summit Health & Rehab Center, located just north of Berry College in northwest Georgia, got a new start of its own. Through acquisition, it has now become a part of the PruittHealth Family of Providers and renamed to PruittHealth – Rome.

The 100 bed skilled nursing facility has earned a four star rating for quality measures and health inspections in the past, but has suffered with its community image after the previous owner was convicted of Medicare and Medicaid fraud. PruittHealth immediately recognized the potential in Summit and is already seeing great progress through the work of the center's dedicated employees, paired with the expertise of the PruittHealth leadership team. Staff members have been trained on new policies and procedures that are focused on high quality and a holistic model of care. Customers will experience new amenities and access to additional services in the future, but changes will be introduced slowly in order to be as least disruptive as possible to current patients.
"Our organization has been a part of the Rome community for years, providing home care, hospice, and managed care services to those in need," said PruittHealth Chairman and C.E.O. Neil L. Pruitt. "We are excited to now be able to offer skilled nursing services in the area as well, helping more patients and offering a more complete pathway to the quality based care they need and deserve."
PruittHealth – Rome is now accepting new patients for rehabilitation after illness or injury. Guests are welcomed to stop by for a personal tour (2 Three Mile Rd NE Rome, GA 30165), or call (706) 236-6002 for more information.
