CHICAGO, Dec. 20, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Proxfinity, a Chicago startup specializing in wearable event technology, recently closed its Seed Round of funding with $1.2 million. This round closed shortly after Co-Founder and former Chief Sales Officer, Lisa Carrel, has taken the reigns as CEO of the company. Proxfinity is gaining traction both locally within its home market of Chicago and globally throughout Canada, Israel, Europe and Japan, and other parts of the United States. In addition to the exponential growth that the company is seeing as its clientele continues to expand, the company continues to grow internally, announcing the recent addition of three team members: Mark Thias - CTO, Norman Chui - Chief Data Scientist, and Emily Orthwein - Account Executive.
Proxfinity investor Alex Ross of New Coast Ventures stated, "Proxfinity is a data-driven company that is working to completely rethink the conference event space by helping increase, quantify, and enhance, the connections and relationships made during these events." Mr. Ross went on to add that, "The meetings and event space has been the same for decades. You go to a conference, you find people you already know, and you stick with them. With Proxfinity you can't help not connecting with new people because you know exactly what you're supposed to connect about. The industry is aching for a tool that can help improve their participant's experience and companies sponsoring said participants should expect some real data around whether or not they're useful. The technology behind Proxfinity's badges is strong and with continued investment in it, we will continue to create a robust tool for conference planners to utilize and enhance the very reason people come - to form valuable relationships."
Jim Streibich of Streibich Capital and former Founder & CEO of Market Track (now Numerator) explained, "I invested in Proxfinity because they are solving a big problem and produce significant benefits for its clients and individual users. For organizations, the Proxfinity Smart Badge assists in breaking down organizational silos and fostering communication. And for events, the Smart Badge vastly increases interaction and the likelihood of meeting that one person that you have missed."
On the company's recent funding round success, Proxfinity CEO Lisa Carrel said, "We are excited to have strategic investors join us as we have found partners that see the impact our platform delivers and believe in the organization to enable us to evolve and grow. I'm proud of what our team has built and has delivered thus far, but we are not stopping with what we've got. Our team is already working on version two of the technology and can't wait to share it with the world in 2019!"
"Proxfinity has revolutionized networking events," explained Frank Brumfield, CEO & Chairman of FSB Companies and Proxfinity Investor. Frank further explained that, "the meeting space has longed for technology that streamlines meaningful connections based on personal and professional compatibility." Speaking on Proxfinity's technology, Mr. Brumfield stated: "This real-time technology coupled with robust charting and data analysis capabilities has and will continue to transform the way people interact to more effectively produce meaningful results at meetings and conferences."
The significant capabilities of what Proxfinity has to offer was evident for Jessica Krason of Pay Factors who expressed the importance of the technology, stating, "The increase in interaction was worth every dollar spent on the platform."
"Proxfinity is a cutting-edge firm that has turned the industry on its head as they have figured out a dynamic way to increase personal interaction and engagement in a compelling manner. They have technology that allows people to use meetings and conferences for their original intention which is connecting with people they don't know, regardless of whether an individual is naturally introverted or extroverted. Proxfinity's back-end data analytics reveal to every stakeholder in a meeting, from participant to event host to sponsor, that Proxfinity is driving meaningful personal interactions and engagement," stated Proxfinity investor Kunal Jerath of Bedrock Investments.
