On Thursday, September 7, 2017, at 4:00 p.m ET, Practising Law Institute (PLI) will host a free online live One-Hour Audio Briefing, Aftermath of Hurricane Harvey: Disaster Assistance, to anyone interested in providing Pro Bono legal help to individuals affected by Hurricane Harvey. The On-Demand program will be available on Friday, September 8, 2017.

During this One-Hour Briefing, expert faculty from FEMA and Southeast Louisiana Legal Services will provide a broad overview of federal disaster assistance, address eligibility criteria for the Individual and Households Program, and offer an outline of the National Flood Insurance Program. The Briefing will also discuss the Standard Flood Insurance Policy (SFIP), filing claims, the most common reasons for FEMA denials, and practice tips to help survivors overcome FEMA denials.
