MENLO PARK, Calif., Nov. 22, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- For the fifth consecutive year, the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) has named Jim DeLoach, a managing director at global consulting firm Protiviti, to its 2016 NACD Directorship 100 list. DeLoach is being recognized in the Governance Professionals and Institutions category. The NACD Directorship 100 list, published annually, identifies the most influential members of the boardroom community including directors, corporate governance experts, journalists, regulators and advisors.
"Jim has evolved into one of the most well-respected and trusted leaders in the corporate governance arena. His deep insights into the integration of business strategy and risk management have positioned him as a top industry expert and thought leader," said Joseph Tarantino, president and CEO, Protiviti. "We're extremely proud of Jim for receiving this honor yet again from the NACD, which further solidifies his role as a leader in the governance and risk management space and emphasizes his continued contributions to the industry."
With more than 40 years of experience, DeLoach focuses on helping organizations successfully respond to government mandates, shareholder demands and a changing business environment in a cost-effective and sustainable manner. He assists companies in integrating risk and risk management with strategy setting and performance management as a member of Protiviti's solutions leadership team. A prolific writer, DeLoach also leads Protiviti's thought leadership strategy and has published more than 300 articles over the past 15 years, discussing topics ranging from governance, managing business risk and effective internal controls. DeLoach is the author of Protiviti's Board Perspectives: Risk Oversight series and The Bulletin, as well as the primary author of the firm's blog, The Protiviti View. In 2000, the Financial Times published his book, Enterprise-wide Risk Management: Strategies, becoming the first book written on the subject of enterprise risk management. Additionally, DeLoach contributes monthly articles to CorporateComplianceInsights.com and the NACD publication Directorship. He is based in Protiviti's Houston office.
"NACD is honored to recognize the achievements and commitment to boardroom excellence exemplified by these exceptional individuals. Effective corporate directors and governance leaders are nothing short of essential to the success of the enterprise – from creating and sustaining long-term value to serving as a guiding light in times of disruption," said Ken Daly, CEO of NACD.
NACD Directorship 100 honorees are selected by a group that includes the previous year's honorees, an advisory panel of judges and NACD Directorship readers and staff. The 2016 honorees will be celebrated at the 10th Annual NACD Directorship 100 Gala on November 30, 2016 in New York City.
