"Jim truly understands how to build relationships, especially with global financial institutions. It's one of the main reasons he's become a valued advisor to clients, a leader within the firm, and a mentor to our professionals," said Joseph Tarantino, Protiviti president and CEO. "We are proud to congratulate Jim on this recognition. It comes as Protiviti celebrates its 10th anniversary as a firm, which makes the honor even sweeter."
Based in Protiviti's New York office, Armetta has more than 20 years of experience providing clients with audit and technology risk solutions. A leader in the firm's financial services industry practice, Armetta is also in charge of Protiviti's U.S. East Region Technology Audit practice. When he's not helping his clients and colleagues, Armetta volunteers for the New York chapter of the non-profit Make-A-Wish Foundation where he serves on the organization's advisory board and audit committee.
Consulting cited Armetta's successful business track record – driven by his relationship- building skills – as one of the primary reasons for this recognition. According to the publication, "Armetta has oversight responsibility for some of the firm's largest clients." In a profile featured in the magazine's current issue, Armetta provided his perspective on being named to the Top 25 list, "It reminds you that working hard, being ethical and helping others pays off in many ways. For my clients, I hope that they feel inspired by my achievement and that they continue to believe the firm puts its best foot forward and that we, and I, have their best interests."
"We were incredibly impressed with the nearly 500 nominations we received this year," said Joe Kornik, Consulting magazine's editor and publisher. "Each year, the Top 25 nominations get stronger, and this year we heard from a lot more clients than we normally do, which is fantastic."
Consulting magazine will honor the Top 25 recipients at a gala awards dinner in New York City on June 14. To read more about Armetta's career and philosophy on relationship building, read his profile here.
In recent years, Consulting has recognized two other Protiviti managing directors in its annual Top 25 Consultants ranking: Cory Gunderson in 2009 and Jim DeLoach in 2011.
