MENLO PARK, Calif., March 3, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Global consulting firm Protiviti (www.protiviti.com) has been named for the second consecutive year as one of the Fortune 100 Best Companies to Work For® (http://fortune.com/best-companies/protiviti-57/), a list which recognizes companies with exceptional workplace cultures and talent development.
"Protiviti is not only grateful to be named one of the Best Companies to Work For by Fortune again, we're also thrilled to have moved up to number 57 on the list this year," said Joseph Tarantino, Protiviti president and CEO. "At Protiviti, we're focused on providing our people and our clients with a truly exceptional experience, and this recognition reinforces our commitment to continue building a rewarding environment and culture of collaboration."
In addition to being named to the list, Fortune highlighted Protiviti for its employees moving up the ranks "thanks to extensive on-site training, 'Learning Maps' that identify next steps, and a team that matches employees with hot opportunities."
According to the survey conducted by the Great Place to Work Institute® and completed by Protiviti employees as part of the process for consideration to be included on the Fortune list:
"What distinguishes Protiviti from other companies is a learning environment, ensuring that employees of all levels can team with our clients, and identify, anticipate and solve our clients' critical business problems together," added Tarantino. "We encourage our people to do the right things for our clients, for our business and for each other. This is what makes the firm feel like a community above all."
Attracting and Retaining the Right People
Protiviti's talent acquisition and retention strategy is driven mainly by its people—the firm's most invaluable recruiting tool. The recruiting process emphasizes getting to know the people of Protiviti, from peers to senior level staff, in order to get a true sense for the firm and how its people interact.
"Our firm is committed to hiring and developing diverse thinkers who also possess Protiviti's eight core values, which include quality, professionalism, creativity and integrity, among other key traits," said Scott Redfearn, executive vice president of human resources at Protiviti.
From campus recruits to long-term career professionals, Protiviti invests in its employees in a number of ways, including:
Fighting Hunger Together
In keeping with the firm's commitment to helping the community, Protiviti people volunteer together to support numerous non-profit organizations in their local markets. They also rally around the cause of fighting world hunger by packing, cooking and delivering meals in support of Protiviti's firm-wide i on Hunger initiative. Clients get caught up in the spirit of helping and frequently join Protiviti employees in meal-packing events.
Making the List
To determine the 100 Best Companies to Work For list, Fortune partners with the Great Place to Work® Institute, a global research and consulting firm, and conducts an extensive survey of the companies applying to make the list. Two-thirds of a company's score is based on the results of the Institute's Trust Index© Employee Survey, which is sent to a random sample of employees from each participating company. Survey questions ask about topics such as employees' attitudes regarding management's credibility, job satisfaction and camaraderie. The other third of the score is based on responses to the Institute's Culture Audit© of companies, which includes detailed questions about pay and benefit programs, and a series of open-ended questions about hiring practices, methods of internal communication, training, recognition programs and diversity efforts. Companies that are eligible for the prestigious ranking must have been in business for at least five years and must have more than 1,000 U.S. employees.
