MENLO PARK, Calif., June 28, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Global consulting firm Protiviti has been named one of the 2016 Fortune 100 Best Workplaces for Millennials®, which recognizes companies with extraordinary corporate cultures and talent growth initiatives.
"At Protiviti, we're deeply focused on ensuring our employees gain a strong sense of purpose and belonging to help them not only succeed in their careers at our firm, but also become woven into the tapestry that is our unique culture," said Joseph Tarantino, president and CEO of Protiviti. "We're honored to be recognized for our devotion to cultivating our employees and providing them with growth opportunities in a collaborative team environment."
In addition to being named to the list, Protiviti was highlighted for giving millennial employees job responsibility, flexibility for work-life balance and its sabbatical program.
People-friendly Culture
"Careers at Protiviti encompass more than your day-to-day work activities and duties," said Scott Redfearn, executive vice president of global human resources at Protiviti. "Our pillars for success are rooted in the mindset of providing growth opportunities on a professional and personal level. We want to enable our people to see the incredible impact they make on our clients' businesses in multiple ways."
Protiviti's innovative onboarding process helps integrate new employees into the workplace through initiatives including new-hire peer advisors; a two-day 'Passport to Protiviti' orientation program; and a new-hire portal. According to Redfearn, "This distinction by Fortune and Great Place to Work reinforces that we're on the journey to creating a workplace that is welcoming, genuine and reflects the interests of both the firm and its employees."
Protiviti invests in its people through several workplace initiatives, such as:
- Protiviti University is an online resource that helps engage employees with professional development programs. It houses Learning Maps that identify the skills required for success at each level in their careers and helps employees learn how to hone those skills for further success.
- Employees enjoy flexible policies around work-life integration and working remotely, as well as a stipend for sabbaticals.
- Employees at Protiviti can participate in employee network groups for a variety of communities including women, veterans and LGBT.
- Protiviti supports employees' desire to make a positive impact in the world with its i on Hunger company-wide initiative that has provided over 2.5 million meals to individuals and families in need.
Making the List
Rankings for the 100 Best Workplaces for Millennials are based entirely upon employees' own feedback.
To determine the list, Fortune asked Great Place to Work, a global research and consulting firm, to survey more than 88,000 millennials (born 1981 or later), who rated their organizations on 58 workplace quality questions. Employees considered the sincerity of managers' support for people's personal and professional lives, how transparent communication is, people's ability to be themselves at work and to invest in their lives outside work, and the meaning they get from their jobs, among many other factors. Millennials' anonymous responses resulted in a total score for each company, which was compared to the benchmark for organizations of that size. Companies needed to employ at least 50 millennials and achieve a 95% confidence level and margin of error of 5% or less in order to be eligible.
Earlier this year, Protiviti was recognized on Glassdoor's 2016 list of the 50 Best Places to Work and was also named to the Fortune 100 Best Companies to Work For® list in both 2016 and 2015.
