Making the List
To determine the 100 Best Companies to Work For list, Fortune partners with the Great Place to Work® Institute, a global research and consulting firm, and conducts an extensive survey of the companies applying to make the list.
According to Fortune, two-thirds of a company's score is based on the results of the Institute's Trust Index© Employee Survey, which is sent to a random sample of employees from each participating company. Survey questions ask about topics such as employees' attitudes regarding management's credibility, job satisfaction and camaraderie. The other third of the score is based on responses to the Institute's Culture Audit© of companies, which includes detailed questions about pay and benefit programs, and a series of open-ended questions about hiring practices, methods of internal communication, training, recognition programs and diversity efforts. Companies that are eligible for the prestigious ranking must have been in business for at least five years and must have more than 1,000 U.S. employees.
The full list of the 100 ranked firms will be included in the March 15, 2015 edition of Fortune and is available now at http://fortune.com/best-companies/
