MENLO PARK, Calif., Aug. 21, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Joseph Tarantino, president and CEO of global consulting firm Protiviti, and Protiviti Managing Director Jim DeLoach have both been named to the 2017 National Association of Corporate Director's (NACD) Directorship 100 list.
The prestigious annual list identifies the most influential people in the boardroom community, including directors, corporate governance experts, regulators and advisors, who significantly impact boardroom practices and performance.
Tarantino has been president and CEO of Protiviti since 2007. He has more than 30 years of experience working with a variety of organizations to enhance their business performance through risk management, operational effectiveness and enhanced governance. He has served clients in various industries with a specialization in banking, including managing internal and external audits, risk consulting engagements, due diligence assignments and large investigations. Tarantino has also been named to Glassdoor's Highest Rated CEOs list (2016 and 2015), among other awards. He currently serves as a member of St. John's University's board of governors and on the board and finance committees for Calvary Hospital in the Bronx and Boys Hope Girls Hope of New York.
With more than 40 years of experience, DeLoach focuses on helping organizations successfully respond to government mandates, shareholder demands and a changing business environment in a cost-effective and sustainable manner. As a member of Protiviti's solutions leadership team, he assists companies in integrating risk and risk management with strategy setting and performance management. A prolific writer, DeLoach also leads Protiviti's thought leadership strategy and has published more than 300 articles over the past 15 years, discussing topics ranging from governance, managing business risk and effective internal controls. DeLoach is being recognized by the NACD for the sixth year.
"NACD is honored to recognize outstanding directors and governance professionals whose leadership is exemplary. Our corporations — indeed our very system of capitalism — is improved by the integrity and commitment to excellence represented by these individuals," said NACD President and CEO Peter Gleason.
Nominees are evaluated in four key categories: integrity, mature confidence, informed judgement, and high performance standards. An independent selection committee reviews each nominee's history of advancing board performance and leading corporate governance practices in accordance with established NACD principles. The principles are a framework that encourages excellence in areas critical to boardroom leadership, including risk oversight, corporate strategy, compensation and transparency.
The 2017 honorees will be celebrated at the 11th Annual NACD Directorship 100 Gala on November 29, 2017 in New York City. The full list of the 2017 NACD Directorship 100 honorees can be found here.
