ProTek Devices Intros ESD Protection Components for Very High Speed Data Interfaces

TEMPE, Ariz., Dec. 10, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- ProTek Devices™ today introduced its P0201V05 and P0402V05 ultra low capacitance electrostatic discharge (ESD) components designed to protect very high speed data interfaces. Both available in a molded ceramic package, the devices feature ultra low capacitance of only 0.15pF (I/O to GND). These features and more make the new components ideal for ESD circuit protection of very high speed data interfaces in popular electronics applications. Such interfaces include HDMI, MDDI, Gigabit Ethernet, USB 3.0 and more.

P0201V05 Key Specifications

Key features for the P0201V05 include compatibility with IEC 61000-4-2 (ESD): Air 15kV (Typical), 25kV (Max) and with IEC 61000-4-2 (ESD): Contact 8kV (Typical), 15kV (Max). Low leakage current is 0.10 micro amps and the P0201V05 also features a fast response time. The component protects one bidirectional line and is RoHS and REACH compliant.

Mechanical characteristics for the P0201V05 include availability in a molded ceramic 0201 package with an approximate weight of 0.22 milligrams. It has lead-free plating and a lead-free solder reflow temperature of Sn/Ag/Cu, 96/3.5/0.5: 260-270 degrees Celsius. Rated stand-off voltage is 5.0 volts, while trigger voltage is 400 volts and typical clamping voltage is 40 volts. With a flammability rating of UL 94V-0, the P0201V05 is available in 8mm tape and reel per EIA standard 481.

P0402V05 Key Specifications

Key features for the P0402V05 include compatibility with IEC 61000-4-2 (ESD): Air 15kV (Typical), 25kV (Max) and with IEC 61000-4-2 (ESD): Contact 8kV (Typical), 15kV (Max). It features a low leakage current of 0.10 micro amps and a fast response time. The P0402V05 protects one bidirectional line and is RoHS and REACH compliant.

Mechanical characteristics include a molded ceramic 0402 package with an approximate weight of 0.44 milligrams. It also features lead-free plating and a lead-free solder reflow temperature of Sn/Ag/Cu, 96/3.5/0.5: 260-270 degrees Celsius. It has a flammability rating of UL 94V-0. The P0402V05 has a rated stand-off voltage of 5.0 volts, trigger voltage of 350 volts, and typical clamping voltage of 35.0 volts. It is available in an 8mm tape and reel, per EIA standard 481.

In addition to HDMI, MDDI, Gigabit Ethernet, USB 3.0, both components are also ideal for other applications. They include DVI; DisplayPort; Unified Display Interface (UDI); USB 2.0; and IEEE 1394 (FireWire®) interfaces.
