ProtectWise Announces Integration With Palo Alto Networks
Integration to provide increased visibility, threat detection and optimized incident response workflows for customers
DENVER, April 4, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- ProtectWise, provider of the industry's first Cloud Network DVR for complete detection, visibility and response to enterprise threats, today announced their integration with the Palo Alto Networks Next-Generation Security Platform designed to provide an enriched forensic workbench. The integration combines the capabilities of the ProtectWise Cloud Network DVR with the Palo Alto Networks platform for essential threat context and streamlined incident response across an organization's network.
As the threat landscape changes, it's critical for organizations to have an accurate picture of the actors, applications and network traffic flowing across all network segments. Yet, one of the most significant challenges security teams encounter when investigating a security event is an overall lack of information related to the event itself. To be effective, security teams need to be armed with data and analytics that extend beyond the usual breach detection window. The ProtectWise integration will not only provide customers with unparalleled visibility into their network traffic data; it also complements the breach prevention capabilities of the Palo Alto Networks Next-Generation Security Platform.
"Over the last few years, we've witnessed a shift in the threat intelligence landscape in that legacy architectures and point products are no longer adequate defenses against the adversaries preying on our organizations," said Ramon Peypoch, chief product officer, ProtectWise. "By integrating with the Palo Alto Networks platform, customer organizations benefit from breach prevention capabilities in addition to the ability to store network data for an unlimited amount of time, providing an automated, continuous real-time and retrospective view of the state of an organization's network."
With the integration, ProtectWise customers will gain increased visibility, threat detection and optimized incident response workflows. Using the built-in APIs of each platform, the combined ProtectWise and Palo Alto Networks integration can deliver:
- Visibility of Palo Alto Networks Next-Generation Firewall traffic and threat log context while investigating ProtectWise security events
- The ability to pivot from Palo Alto Networks logs to ProtectWise security events and packet capture data, available within the ProtectWise Visualizer
- An integration with Palo Alto Networks WildFire cloud-based malware analysis environment for full convicted file reports
- Full fidelity visibility into SSL applications in the ProtectWise Security DVR Platform by leveraging Palo Alto Networks Decrypt Mirror port
"The integration combining ProtectWise and Palo Alto Networks capabilities has proven to be invaluable to us as we manage our security risk," said Paul Calatayud, chief information security officer, Surescripts. "The prevalence of sophisticated cyber attacks today makes complete knowledge of who and what is on our network of the utmost importance. ProtectWise and Palo Alto Networks together provide us with complete visibility in addition to an end-to-end approach for detecting attacks."
