Protect-A-Bed® Unveils Vision 2018
CEO James Bell shares state of the company, goals and updated product lines
CHICAGO, Aug. 9, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Protect-A-Bed®, a leading innovator of premier bedding products, welcomed a growing collection of sales representatives, trainers and executives to its annual company conference in Wheeling, Illinois earlier this year. At this event, CEO James Bell recapped an extremely successful 2015 and shared Protect-A-Bed's multi-year objectives – a campaign entitled Vision 2018.
This past year, Protect-A-Bed enjoyed considerable gains in sales and product growth, across its three brands –Protect-A-Bed, REM-Fit, and ThermalStrike. Thanks to an expanded and increasingly efficient warehouse, the doubling of drop-ship capabilities and a continued cultivation of new business accounts, the company's annual revenue reached $100,000,000 worldwide, a 15 percent growth from 2014.
"We are extremely grateful to our entire team for working tirelessly in 2015," said Bell. "Year after year, they continue to demonstrate passion, innovation and expertise – the core attributes of our company. The results we saw last year are a testament to the dedication, attention to detail and emphasis on partnership that they show our customers every single day."
Bell shared Vision 2018 to serve as a roadmap to where he plans Protect-A-Bed will be as a company, both fiscally and culturally, by December 31, 2018. He foresees that the company will continue to be healthy and privately held, led by a professional executive management team focused on strategy and growth. By continuing to add value and honesty to its operations, Protect-A-Bed strives to achieve $100 million in North American sales with another $60 million in international sales within the next 3 years. Bell anticipates that customers will see the company as a great partner who champions Recovery & Sleep Technology expertise.
As a key part of Vision 2018, Protect-A-Bed employees will enjoy an increased focus on the work/life balance. While employee growth and engagement programs will expand exponentially, the company now offers a significant increase in paid time off.
"As a family-owned business that helps people improve the quality of their rest, we understand and appreciate the importance of spending time away from work to recharge and spend time with loved ones," said Bell. "Ensuring that our entire team has ample opportunity for respite throughout the year is crucial to our success moving forward."
In addition to sharing Vision 2018 with the company, Bell and members of Protect-A-Bed's executive team provided details and training on the expanded line of bedding and accessories that were recently introduced at Las Vegas Market 2016. These include the Originals Collection, Naturals Collection and Therm-A-Sleep Collection; in addition, they introduced the Worlds Smartest Pillow and the REM-Fit Sleep Monitor, a non-wearable sleep tracker which supplements the REM-Fit Active.
"We pride ourselves on continuous innovation so that our consumers can always rely on us for the very best in Recovery & Sleep Technology products," said Bell. "Whether it be pillows that measure heart and respiratory rates or sheets that feel cool to the touch, for example, Protect-A-Bed strives to set industry trends while constantly improving the quality of people's sleep."
The annual meeting closed with a presentation of five excellence awards that highlighted the skills and contributions of the company's top-performing employees. The following were honored:
