Prost! It's Oktoberfest in New York!
Blaue Gans Kicks Off Oktoberfest "New York Style"
NEW YORK, Sept. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Austrian born Chef Kurt Gutenbrunner knows a little about celebrating Oktoberfest and he's not afraid to share it. "It's a wonderful time of the year," he explains, "Just like St. Patrick's Day and Cinco de Mayo, it's time to get together with friends and just have fun." And what better place to gather than at Gutenbrunner's own Blaue Gans – the authentic German – Austrian Bistro located in the heart of Tribeca at 139 Duane Street in New York.
Blaue Gans is known for its exceptional German-Austrian cuisine, offering a casual atmosphere, an upbeat staff and a wide variety of German and Austrian beer and wines. The menu features something for everyone from the traditional Weiner Schnitzel and Smoked Bratwurst, to a delicate Roasted Baby Beet Salad, and one can't pass on the famous Blaue Gans Chicken Wings. The menu is moderately priced and the portions are generous. Add the fantastic Oktoberfest celebration specials and you can't go wrong! (Thursday and Friday Blaue Gans Oktoberfest Happy Hour offers guests $5 beer and wine from 5 PM to 7 PM throughout October.)
The festivities start this Friday, September 17, kicking off Oktoberfest full swing with the lively sounds of The Ja Ja Jas serving up German music with a Pop edge. And don't forget to calendar in September 25th and the Blaue Gans After-Party for the 2010 German-American Steuben Parade.
