Prosci Releases Second Edition of Change Management: The People Side of Change
A timely release of a book that gets at the heart of change in a changing world
LOVELAND, Colo., Dec. 18, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Prosci today released the second edition of Change Management: The People Side of Change. In this second edition, Jeff Hiatt and Tim Creasey further explore the essence of why companies need to manage change. Business, government and our communities are facing more and more change as 2012 comes to a close. How do individuals—and collectively, organizations—succeed in times of change?
"Jeff and Tim have done it again by translating a topic that can be fuzzy and esoteric to a level of clarity and purpose," says Derinda Ehrlich, Vice President, Global Operational Excellence at Avnet Inc. The second edition introduces Prosci's Five Tenets of Change Management. Through the series of these five concise and foundational tenets, the authors connect the case for change management directly to the desired results and outcomes of change. Prosci's Five Tenets show why change management is a requirement for benefit realization and a solution for the reality of how change occurs. "The addition of the five tenets boils down the reason companies need change management to its essence—to help people adopt, apply and embrace changes that deliver a desired outcome," says Ehrlich.
In addition to the Five Tenets, Hiatt and Creasey have refreshed the content with updated research based on Prosci's most recent Best Practices in Change Management research report released earlier this year. 650 organizations shared experiences and best practices in this 2012 report, which forms the backdrop for Prosci's research-based, holistic and easy-to-use change management approach and methodology outlined in Change Management: The People Side of Change.
Change Management: The People Side of Change is an introduction to managing change for managers and executives. Project leaders and consultants can use this book with their organizations and clients to introduce change management to front-line managers and top-level executives involved in change. Specifically, managers and executives will understand the broader context around change management and understand their role in the process. The book also provides an excellent foundation for project teams looking to bridge the gap between implementing solutions and delivering true value and benefits.
As the editors of the Change Management Learning Center, Hiatt and Creasey take 14 years of research with more than 2600 organizations, white papers and established change management models, and combine this knowledge into an easy-to-read guide for managing change. Multiple case studies and examples make this book a quick-read for project leaders, managers and executives that need a basic understanding of change management.
