Propex Announces Georgia Expansion Plan

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn., June 3, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Propex Operating Company, LLC will expand its carpet backings manufacturing facility in Hazlehurst, GA, adding jobs and investing in the future of manufacturing in Georgia.  The expansion specifically involves investment of capital to increase capacity to produce Isis®, a new innovative platform of backings used in the manufacturing of commercial carpet tile.   

Propex introduced Isis, the first recycled polyester woven backing for carpet tile, in 2011 after years of development.  The product was developed and is manufactured by Propex in their facility in Gronau, Germany.  The increasing global demand for Isis requires further investment in capacity to better serve customers.  "Our decision to manufacture Isis in Georgia shows our commitment to provide innovative products to support the continued growth of the US carpet industry," said Dave Gartshore, Vice President of Propex Furnishings Solutions and Curv® Composites Divisions.
