Prop 123 Heading for a Big Win - New Poll
Governor Ducey's $3.5 billion school funding ballot sailing through says Lincoln Strategy Group's Nathan Sproul
PHOENIX, May 16, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Governor Doug Ducey's $3.5 billion school funding bid is heading for a decisive victory in Tuesday's statewide election according to a significant new poll.
The poll from Lincoln Strategy Group - a full service campaign and public affairs company found that Republican, Democrat and Independent voters are all in favor of passing Proposition 123.
The survey of 887 Arizonans with a margin of error of just over 3% (MoE: 3.29%) shows that support for the proposition, which will see schools start receiving millions of extra dollars, holds a commanding 16 point lead over those opposed.
The poll's headline figures are clear:
YES: 54.4%
NO: 38.5%
UNDECIDED: 7.1%
Perhaps most significantly, undecided voters are leaning toward voting yes by a nearly 2 to 1 margin. When the undecided voters are pressed to make a decision, the measure passes 59% to 41%.
The lead is slightly narrower amongst voters who have already cast their ballots with 56% having voted in favor and 44% against.
Support for the proposition is especially strong amongst younger voters and women.
"It's abundantly clear that Governor Ducey has built a broad base of bipartisan support for this proposition. Unless there is a huge reversal in momentum in the coming days then Proposition 123 will pass and Governor Ducey will have a significant victory," said Lincoln Strategy Group's Managing Director, Nathan Sproul.
