Promisec Provides Forensic Data Collection and IOC Detection with Launch of Promisec Endpoint Manager 4.12
PEM 4.12 Supports Threat Intelligence Services by Extending Detection of Advanced Endpoint Threats
NEEDHAM, Mass., Sept. 15, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Promisec, a pioneer in endpoint detection and response, today introduced a comprehensive, forensically sound process for endpoint data collection with the launch of Promisec Endpoint Manager (PEM) 4.12.
This enhanced product release provides forensic teams an agentless retrieval process for gathering file system data without using Microsoft APIs. The new capabilities target the disk directly and will provide the highest level of visibility and assurance of the existence of potential threats along with a proven process for incident response.
PEM 4.12 will also provide a streamlined process to reference hashes from threat intelligence feeds and use them to proactively search for known threats at scale throughout the enterprise. This provides companies that subscribe to threat feeds with a clear process to make threat information immediately actionable as part of an IOC detection process.
With the 4.12 release, companies will realize greater benefit from their threat information, which together with Promisec's own threat intelligence community derived data will provide greater confidence that customers are finding more threats via multiple sourcing options using PEM.
Furthermore, PEM 4.12 provides connectivity into Blue Coat Systems Security Analytics platform. Through the combination of Blue Coat Security Analytics with Promisec Endpoint Manager (PEM), security operations professionals will see a combined view of suspicious events that are occurring on endpoints, alongside detailed communications that have taken place on the network. As a result, users can quickly determine which events matter the most based on the level of activity detected.
"As the threat environment continues to intensify, certain types of malware can go undetected from an endpoint using normal analysis, which leaves companies vulnerable to a prolonged cyber-attack," said Dan Ross, CEO of Promisec. "We are excited to launch an endpoint solution that provides forensic analysis of potential security threats that may be hiding on an endpoint. With the forensic data capture provided by PEM 4.12, we will provide the industry's most accurate view of endpoint threats hiding within the file system, giving incident investigators the NTFS artifacts they need to identify and remediate threats."
PEM 4.12 capabilities also include a streamlined policy engine for handling of Microsoft Group Policy control definitions. The result is PEM will handle every Group Policy Object much more effectively and efficiently ensuring policy and controls are in place throughout the enterprise.
