AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Aug. 9, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Former Director of Public Relations and Marketing at Detroit Children's Hospital Kelly Scheer has been named President of the Blossom Collection at Moceri Companies. The appointment was formalized in May of this year.
The Blossom Collection is a new concept in senior communities with a variety of age-in-place luxury residences at attainable rates, unparalleled amenities and convenient access to a wide range of services. The original Blossom Ridge footprint in Oakland Township, at the northwest corner of Dutton and Adams Roads, and those of Carillon Creek, located a quarter mile north of the Blossom Ridge development at Adams and Silverbell Roads are included in The Blossom Collection.
Scheer will lead the planning, development and design team for the Blossom Collection, as well as its strategy, programming needs, team development, financial benchmarking and budgeting, performance improvement outcomes, licensing and regulatory compliance and all other management functions.
"We are thrilled to have a professional of Kelly's caliber leading the Blossom Collection," said Dominic J. Moceri, Vice President of the Moceri Management Company. "We are excited to see the vision of our communities with wellness, dignity and connectedness at their center come to reality under Kelly's leadership. We are confident that the Blossom Collection will be a spectacular option for those that know that the chapter that comes after 55 can be as bold and active as all the ones that came before."
Scheer previously served as vice president, strategy and post-acute operations for St. Louis-based Navvis & Company, an advisory and management LLC that catered to health systems, commercial payers and physician practices; and as vice president, strategy and housing operations, and public relations for Trinity Senior Living Communities, part of one of the largest Catholic health systems in the nation. At Trinity, Scheer opened three senior wellness centers and was involved in the planning for a new continuing care retirement community, creating a brand and identity for the newly named Trinity Senior Living Communities. Scheer also served as interim vice president, institutional relations and, previously, senior director, public relations and marketing for Detroit-based Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute. She ascended to the role of Director of Marketing and Public Relations at the Detroit Medical Center at the Children's Hospital of Michigan.
"I'm excited to lead a team of very talented people who have an almost prescient sense for the kinds of communities in which people want to live, grow and thrive," said Scheer. "The Blossom Collection inspires me, and I look forward to fulfilling the exciting vision the Moceri Companies has created."
