Prominent Collectors to Display Vehicles at Dana Point Concours d'Elegance(TM)
DANA POINT, Calif., May 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Some of the most prominent car collectors in the world will be exhibiting their cars at the 28th annual Dana Point Concours d'Elegance™ (www.DanaPointConcours.org) including the Nethercutt Collection, Peter & Merle Mullin, C. A. "Skeets" Dunn, Aaron & Valerie Weiss and the William Lyon Family.
The Nethercutt Collection will be displaying a beautiful 12 cylinder 1934 Packard 1108, Twelve Sport Phaeton with Coachwork by LeBaron. At the 2008 Pebble Beach Concours d' Elegance this car won First in class, Classic Car Club Award of the year for Best American Car, Most Elegant Open Car on the field and Reserve Best of Show.
Also featured will be the 1939 Bugatti Aravis T57SC owned by Peter and Merle Mullin. This car has coachwork by Gangloff and recently won Best of Show at the 2010 Keels and Wheels Concours d'Elegance. Mr. Mullin recently opened the 50,000 square foot Mullin Automotive Museum which is home to some of the finest examples of historic French automobiles in the world.
Another exquisite vehicle on display will be C. A. "Skeets" Dunn's 1951 Alfa 1900 Touring Coupe, which is the first prototype of the 1900s confirmed by the factory register. The car was given to Formula 1 El Maestro Juan Manuel Fangio as a gift for winning the 1951 championship for Alfa Romeo. This car won first in class at the 2007 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance.
Also on display will be Aaron & Valerie Weiss' 1929 Auburn 8-120 with coachwork by Central Manufacturing. This vehicle has a fresh restoration by Nicks Old Car Specialty and Dana Point will be the first major Concours event for this exquisite vehicle.
Finally, representing this year's featured marque is the 1965 Alfa Romeo Giulia TZ2 owned by the William Lyon Family. It has coachwork by Zagato and is only one of 11 built in GT competition configuration. This TZ2 is also one of the factory team Auto Delta cars which competed internationally at Le Mans, Targa Florio and Sebring. This car won the Gran Turismo Trophy at the 2009 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance.

The 28th Annual Dana Point Concours d'Elegance™ will take place on Sunday, June 27, 2010 on the Monarch Beach Golf Links at the prestigious St. Regis resort in Dana Point, California. This year's event will feature 100 years of Alfa Romeo and celebrate 80 years of design from Pininfarina. The Dana Point Concours d'Elegance™ is a volunteer-run, 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization, with excess proceeds supporting the Ocean Institute, the Mary & Dick Allen Diabetes Center at Hoag Hospital and other Southern California youth charities.
