Projects In Knowledge® Announces App Download Milestone
Records 100,000 Downloads of Growing iPhone/iPad App Library
LITTLE FALLS, N.J., Feb. 17, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Projects In Knowledge (PIK) has announced that its free iPhone/iPad apps have surpassed 100,000 downloads, an impressive milestone in its mission to develop and deliver timely continuing medical education (CME/CE) content and resources to busy clinicians at the point-of-care.
PIK released its first apps in May 2010, two editions of its proprietary Living Medical eTextbook™ reference tool. In just a few short months, the Living Medical eTextbook app was rated a top 10 free iPhone app for clinicians by iMedicalApps (http://www.iMedicalApps.com) and maintains that ranking today. PIK now offers 31 digital activities encompassing iPhone and iPad apps, video webcasts, and video and audio cases presenting content in neurology, oncology, type 2 diabetes, hepatology, rheumatology, and dermatology.
"Clinicians have embraced using mobile technology in daily practice and are demanding more point-of-care information and resources," said Patty Peterson, CCMEP, Senior Vice President at PIK. "As we roll out our planned slate of apps to meet this growing need, we expect our average of nearly 3,000 weekly app downloads to increase exponentially."
