Project Rebirth Launches New Fundraising Effort with Gift Cards for Good
Online Exchange Technology Allows Donors to Contribute Unused Balances
NEW YORK, Feb. 24, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Project Rebirth, Inc., (www.projectrebirth.org) the resilience resource for those who serve community and country, announces that it is partnering with Gift Cards for Good to give donors a new way to support the not-for-profit's important work.
With the addition of Gift Cards for Good technology on the Project Rebirth donation page, contributors can donate the unused balance from the gift cards of more than 100 major merchants. Statistics show 93% of U.S. consumers purchase or receive a gift card every year, and that the average American has $100 in unused gift cards.
"This partnership makes it easy for our donors to with one click quickly contribute valuable funds that might otherwise go to waste," explained Project Rebirth Executive Director Aaron Leonard. "We encourage anyone who believes in our resilience-building work to check their wallets, desks and pockets for gift cards and put that money to good use."
The First Responder Resilience Network is the key Project Rebirth program rolling out in 2016 that will be supported by donors' gift card donations. Piloted and tested in 2015, it is a national program to reduce PTSD and suicide among our nation's first responders. Incorporating successful approaches learned from Project Rebirth's work with its Military & Veteran team – and developed by first responders and mental health professionals expert in working with police, firefighters and EMS -- the program helps first responders better understand how traumatic experiences impact them and provides tools to build resilience individually and in cohorts. The program uses Project Rebirth's films of first responders and others recovering from the 9/11 attacks as unique tools to show healing and moving forward through the pain of trauma and loss.
To make a contribution, donors can go to www.projectrebirth.org/donate, click the green "GIVE" button, fill in the gift card information and receive an immediate confirmation receipt of their tax-deductible donation. 100% of every dollar contributed via the Gift Card for Good partnership will go directly to helping first responders.
