Progresso™ Kicks Off Soup Season with Six New Flavors
New Vegetable Classics, Light, and Traditional Soup flavors
MINNEAPOLIS, Aug. 12, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Progresso™ Soup continues to bring flavorful options to the table. With six new varieties, the entire Progresso ready-to-eat soup line includes more than 90 flavors to meet everyone's taste preferences any time of day.
"Families are looking for more options to add to their menus that are fast, fulfilling and flavorful," said Valerie Mastroianna, associate marketing manager, Progresso Soup. "Our soups are made with high quality ingredients and crafted with care, offering homemade taste in a convenient way."
"Many Progresso consumers are seeking exciting new flavor options, but are also looking to manage their weight. They don't want to sacrifice great flavor while watching their calories," said Jill Haspert, associate marketing manager, Progresso Soup. "Progresso offers 40 soups with 100 calories or less per serving that are great ways to manage calories while still enjoying the creamy, savory flavors our consumers are craving."
Vegetables Never Tasted So Good
For those looking for savory soups with hearty vegetables, discover two new Vegetable Classic flavors—Tuscan-Style White Bean and Southwestern-Style Corn with Potatoes & Peppers.
Consumers are striving to eat more vegetables, but often fall short of the recommended amount. In fact, less than 10 percent1 of adults are getting enough vegetables in their diets due to barriers such as price, convenience, and taste. Progresso Vegetable Classic soups address many of these barriers, providing a great-tasting, easy way to add more vegetables to consumers' daily routines. With more than 20 flavors with 1/2 cup of vegetables per serving, Progresso offers a variety of options that are loaded with vegetables and packed with taste.
"While consumers know it is important to eat their veggies, they often get bored with their vegetable routines. We believe vegetables taste better in soup because they are simmered in our savory broth and seasoned with the perfect blend of herbs and spices," said Mastroianna. "Whether it's our classic Minestrone, with thick cut carrots and green beans, or our new Tuscan-Style White Bean, loaded with juicy tomatoes and tender great northern beans, our soups are both delicious and satisfying."
