ProFlowers Launches Gifts For Good™ Collection
Up to $50,000 Donation will Benefit KidsGardening, Bring Garden-Based Learning to Schools
SAN DIEGO, Dec. 7, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- ProFlowers®, a leading FTD Companies, Inc. floral brand (NASDAQ:FTD), introduces its Gifts for Good™ Collection. The collection was launched as part of ProFlowers' ongoing efforts to "give back" to the community. This holiday season, a portion of the proceeds from the sale of every item in the new collection will benefit KidsGardening, a national charity that brings garden-based learning to school children across the nation.
ProFlowers will contribute $5 to KidsGardening from every item sold in the Gifts for Good™ Collection between Nov. 25, 2017 and Dec. 25, 2017, up to a maximum of $50,000*. The contribution will help bring garden-based learning to nearly 40,000 students throughout 2018.
The collection, available at ProFlowers.com/KidsGardening, includes seven fresh floral arrangements and a mini-holiday tree. Every plant and bouquet is also accompanied with an exclusive KidsGardening ornament.
The main product, the "Giving Tree", is a live Spruce tree complete with twinkle lights, a festive tin and the ornament. This fresh, fragrant mini-tree arrives ready to decorate and can be planted outside after its holiday indoor enjoyment. The seven floral arrangements in the collection arrive with an on-trend, red mason jar vase.
"The holidays are a time for giving. So, we decided to give back to a cause that speaks to what we do on a daily basis -- fresh flowers and plants," said ProFlowers General Manager, Senior Vice President Brita Turner. "Through our partnership with KidsGardening, we are teaching the next generation how to nurture our planet through gardening. When you give from the Gifts for Good™ Collection this holiday season, you are not just giving back to KidsGardening, you are giving back to our planet and investing in future generations."
KidsGardening is a leader in the school gardening movement, providing children with new skills through the use of garden-based learning since 1982. Their work helps to improve nutritional attitudes, academic achievement, civic-mindedness, and environmental stewardship.
"Children who learn through the garden benefit in so many ways—physically, emotionally, and socially," said KidsGardening Executive Director Emily Shipman. "We are a resource for thousands of youth and garden educators across the U.S. with our grants, curriculum and how-to resources. Through our partnership with ProFlowers, we will be able to expand these efforts and reach more teachers and students."
