Professor Frances Frei, Leading Authority In Organizational Excellence, Joins The Board Of Directors Of Blue Buffalo
WILTON, Conn., Dec. 15, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Blue Buffalo, the leading natural pet food company, announced today that Professor Frances Frei joined its Board of Directors. Professor Frei is currently the UPS Foundation Professor of Service Management at Harvard Business School and the Senior Associate Dean, Director of Faculty Planning and Recruiting.
"When your company's creation was inspired by a large breed Airedale, and the only people that you hire are passionate pet lovers, and you let them bring their dogs and cats to work every day, it's pretty easy to see why Blue Buffalo has developed a rather unique corporate culture", said Founder and Chairman Bill Bishop, "and there's no doubt that this corporate culture has been a key driver of our dramatic growth over the last decade. As maintaining this culture will be critical in the future, I'm pleased and proud to welcome Frances to the Board. She is one of world's leading authorities on leveraging an organization's culture into sustainable business excellence and marketplace success. With her advice and counsel, my expectation is that our corporate culture will become even more of a competitive advantage for Blue Buffalo."
"I am thrilled to join the Board of Blue Buffalo, a true disruptor in an industry that needed disruption. An important part of my research focuses on how companies design operating environments that deliver on products and services that delight their customers, while building advantaged businesses. It is wonderful to see and experience this in real life at Blue Buffalo, where excellence is designed into every aspect of the business and has inspired a powerful culture. As a result, both its customers, the pet parents, and its people, the Buffs, feel proud to be a part of Blue Buffalo," said Professor Frei. "Going forward, a key challenge will be to continue to live by and translate their important mission and culture to their growing base of people in and outside the US and across different settings, whether in the office or on the factory floor. I look forward to working with the team and guiding them as a director on this exciting journey."
