LOS ANGELES, May 28, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Internationally renowned evangelist and movie producer Ray Comfort, whose riveting online movie Noah and the Last Days has garnered an astounding 1.25 million views on YouTube over the past several weeks, will be the special guest May 30th on the Trinity Broadcasting Network's popular Praise the Lord talk show.
Comfort, whose three previous online movies have received a combined total of 6.5 million YouTube views, produced his latest fast-paced documentary as an answer to the big-screen movie Noah, which received abundant news coverage over charges that it strayed from the biblical account of Noah and the Ark. "When I saw that Hollywood had originally listed their version as fantasy, I felt compelled to produce something that would show that the story of Noah is an historical fact," Comfort explained of his motivation for making Noah and the Last Days.
"The main message in our movie is that God means what He says," Comfort told reporters in March. "He once judged the world because of its wickedness, and He warns that He will do it again, but this time it won't be just a catastrophic worldwide flood."
Like Comfort's previous movies, the 30-minute Noah video features Comfort conducting face-to-face interviews with men and women on the street, asking them pointed questions about such issues as the existence of God, the accuracy of Scripture, and the depravity and sinfulness of humanity. Challenging individuals about their own tolerance of murder, adultery, rape, stealing, and other behaviors the Bible condemns, Comfort draws a shocking parallel between the sinfulness of the world in the time of Noah and the state of the world today.
Noting that the Bible is clear that God hates wickedness and will ultimately judge all people for their own sin, Comfort emphasized that God is also "rich in mercy and has provided a Savior so that we can avoid Hell and be granted everlasting life as a free gift. Jesus is the door to the Ark where we can be saved from the coming flood of God's just wrath against evil. That's the simple message of our movie."
Over the past twenty years Comfort has shared his bold faith in Christ in some of the world's most intimidating secular venues, debating atheists at Yale and other prestigious universities, challenging people about what they believe on crowded street corners in the world's major cities, and talking about Christianity on national news shows like ABC's Nightline. Among the more than 60 books he has penned, such titles as You can Lead an Atheist to Evidence But You Can't Make Him Think and Evolution: A Fairy Tale for Grownups have placed him in constant demand as a speaker in both religious and secular forums.
TBN Vice President Matthew Crouch said that like Comfort's previous online movies — including 180, which juxtaposes Hitler's holocaust with abortion (over 4 million YouTube views), Genius, about John Lennon (over 500,000 YouTube views), and Evolution vs. God (1.6 million views) — Noah and the Last Days has struck a chord with viewers all over the world. "Ray Comfort reaches out to people and challenges them about their lives and eternity in a way that few others are doing today," Mr. Crouch said. "We are excited to welcome him to Praise the Lord, and we look forward to his latest update about how people continue to respond to this outstanding movie.
Join host Phil Munsey as he hosts Ray Comfort for this special one-hour edition of TBN's Praise the Lord show, Friday May 30th at 7 p.m. Pacific (9 p.m. Central, 10 p.m. Eastern).
