PrinterOn Enterprise 2.0 Breaks Mobile Printing Boundaries Taking Enterprise Mobility to New Levels
PrinterOn introduces secure printer discovery that is not limited by network or device.
KITCHENER, ON, May 1, 2013 /PRNewswire/ - PrinterOn®, the world's leading Enterprise Mobile Printing Platform, has announced the release of PrinterOn Enterprise 2.0. This release of PrinterOn Enterprise is a significant update to the platform that expands on PrinterOn's existing solution to provide the security, flexibility, usability and reliability required by the enterprise with diverse networks, thousands of users and multiple device types.
PrinterOn Enterprise is an on-premise mobile printing platform that enables documents to be printed and managed within the private cloud regardless of device, printer, network or geographic location. The solution has been designed for rapid deployment with the most common options included as default settings to ensure a quick first successful print job. For larger deployments, printers and services can be created and managed in bulk to support enterprise-wide, multi-device implementations. Integrations with existing authentication and print management systems extend and enhance current infrastructure investments.
The following are some of the most significant new features of PrinterOn Enterprise 2.0.
Secure Printer Discovery Without Network or Device Limitations
The most anticipated of these new features is the introduction of PrinterOn Discovery. As a key part of the PrinterOn Enterprise 2.0 Platform, PrinterOn Discovery provides enterprise users with automatic printer discovery capabilities across multiple device platforms.
Unlike AirPrint™, PrinterOn Discovery:
- supports all print workflows (mobile apps, email, web printing)
- works with iOS®, Android™ and Windows® devices
- is compatible with all printers and MFPs
- supports release codes and user authentication as well as other advanced workflows
"Enterprise 2.0 is a major milestone in the history of our Enterprise Platform," said Ken Noreikis, Vice President Sales & Marketing, PrinterOn. "BYOD is at the forefront of enterprise mobility today and mobile workers need to stay productive no matter where they are, which device they are using or the network they are on. The introduction of PrinterOn Secure Discovery enables this connection of users and devices worldwide letting them print what they need, when they need it. PrinterOn is the only enterprise-grade printing platform that can offer this robust feature set which is enabled by our unique private cloud printing infrastructure. This technical architecture is fundamental to our approach and provides significant value to Enterprise users."
Push Notification Enables Near Real-time Cloud Printing
PrinterOn has introduced an industry first by combining the reliability of the PrinterOn patented polling technology with the network efficient push notification. The introduction of this enhanced cloud (public and private) communication protocol provides a near real-time printing experience for users connecting to remote locations.
Localization for PrinterOn Mobile Apps
PrinterOn Enterprise now supports the following 6 languages: English, French, German, Dutch, Spanish and Italian. Localization support includes the PrinterOn Enterprise web printing portals, allowing users to select their preferred language. PrinterOn has also released fully localized versions of the companion PrinterOn mobile apps for both iOS and Android. Localization support also extends to email printing allowing administrators to choose their preferred email communication language.
Guest Printing Outside of the Corporate Network
PrinterOn Enterprise 2.0 brings a rich Guest Printing experience to users. These new Guest Printing features support all print workflows including web submission, email and mobile apps and provide distinct guest user reporting and guest user IDs that are validated against AD/LDAP servers. Guest Printing can be enabled as part of a stand-alone PrinterOn Enterprise deployment or as part of a co-deployment with a print management system.
Citrix® Ready Certified
PrinterOn is now Citrix Ready Certified. PrinterOn installed on an Enterprise Citrix server enables Citrix users to print from iPads, Android tablets and other devices to any enterprise print location, on any network using standard File>Print methods.
Print What You Need When You Need It - Access Cloud Storage Applications
PrinterOn Enterprise enables users to print from cloud storage applications such as Box, Dropbox™, Google Drive™ and Skydrive®. Regardless of what type of device is being used, what network a user is on or where they happen to be, PrinterOn provides a way to print cloud-based content quickly and easily.
