Princess Grace Foundation-USA Announces 2014 Princess Grace Awards Applications in Theater, Playwriting, Dance Performance, Choreography and Film
NEW YORK, Feb. 10, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Princess Grace Foundation-USA (PGF-USA) announces the availability of applications for the 31st annual Princess Grace Awards in Theater, Playwriting, Dance Performance, Choreography, and Film. Founded in 1982, in memory of Princess Grace (Kelly) of Monaco, the Foundation identifies and assists emerging artists in theater, dance and film and has awarded nearly $10 million to nearly 700 individuals nationwide. Theater Awards are offered via scholarships, apprenticeships and fellowships. Awards are based on the quality of the emerging artist's past work, potential for future excellence, and the impact the collaboration between the nominating organization and the artist will have on the individual's artistic growth. Dance Performance Awards are offered via scholarships and fellowships. Awards are based on the applicant's artistic merit, significance of the Award to current artistic development, and the potential for future excellence and impact on the field. Choreography Awards offer emerging choreographers the opportunity to create a new work with organizations with which they have little experience. POSTMARK DEADLINE: APRIL 30, 2014.
Film Scholarships, awarded to undergraduate and graduate students, are by invitation-only and support the filmmaker's thesis projects. Approved university, college and school film programs are invited to submit applicants via their Department Chairs or Deans. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or have permanent resident status. All applicants (except playwriting) must be nominated by a non-profit organization (school or company) with which they will be affiliated during the grant period (September 2014 – August 2015.)
