PriMed Management Consulting Services Names New CIO, Umang Jain

SAN RAMON, Calif., Sept. 28, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- PriMed Management, the management services organization for Hill Physicians Medical Group, today announced that Umang Jain has been named chief information officer, succeeding long-time CIO, Craig Lanway. In his new role, Jain will provide leadership to the technology team and oversight to the strategic direction of PriMed's information technology systems and services.

Jain comes to PriMed and Hill Physicians with 20 years of technology expertise honed in the healthcare and consulting industries. He most recently served as Senior Director, Core Business Applications and Integration at Blue Shield of California, where he led a team responsible for all internal business applications.  He also helped formed Blue Shield's digital transformation strategy and helped develop an approach to lead to better quality and faster time to market for technology solutions.

Jain succeeds Craig Lanway, who recently retired after 19 years of service. Lanway joined PriMed in 1997 as the director of information services.  Craig was instrumental in the development of contemporary information systems applications.  He also launched an electronic health record system for the doctors of Hill Physicians.
