PricewaterhouseCoopers Ranked in Top Ten of Working Mother's '100 Best Companies' for Seventh Consecutive Year
PwC Makes List for 16th Time, Reinforcing Firm's Continued Support for Working Parents
NEW YORK, Sept. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP (PwC) has been named in the top ten of the Working Mother "100 Best Companies" for the seventh consecutive year. PwC, which was inducted into Working Mother's "100 Best" Hall of Fame last year, has now appeared 16 times in this prominent benchmark for work-life practices in corporate America.
In recognizing PwC on this year's list -- the silver anniversary of the "100 Best" -- Working Mother cited PwC's continuous focus on the needs of working parents at a time when many companies are challenged to maintain programs and benefits for employees.
"Supporting our professionals in meeting the needs of their families and their own career goals improves loyalty and performance," said Bob Moritz, U.S. chairman and senior partner, PricewaterhouseCoopers. "The ranking is an honor and underscores our continued commitment to work-life flexibility and support for the thousands of our professionals each year who become new parents."
"Working parents have numerous challenges in any economy," added Niloufar Molavi, chief diversity officer, PricewaterhouseCoopers. "By providing resources and options that enable greater flexibility, we believe that our people can be equally successful at home and in their careers."
PwC continues to address the needs of working parents through a broad range of initiatives and programs. These include generous parental leave policies, a variety of flexible work arrangements, sabbaticals, networking circles and other programs.
"We are excited to announce PricewaterhouseCoopers as one of the Working Mother 100 Best Companies for 2010, and a top ten organization as well," said Carol Evans, President, Working Mother Media. "PwC supports working parents through an impressive range of initiatives, including the new Breakthrough Leadership Development program for female partners destined for the executive suite, strong women's networks, and its intranet community, Women Upfront."
PricewaterhouseCoopers has been recognized in numerous ways for its people initiatives. For the past three years, PwC ranked No. 1 in Training magazine's "Training Top 125" list of organizations that excel at employee training and development. PwC has also consistently been named to FORTUNE's "100 Best Companies to Work For" list, and as one of DiversityInc's "Top 50 Companies for Diversity." In 2009, the firm was ranked No. 2 in the first-ever "Universum Global Top 50" employers index, a ranking of the world's most attractive employers, and in 2007, the firm won the Catalyst Award for its efforts to advance and retain women. Working Mother's 100 Best Companies Methodology
PricewaterhouseCoopers was selected for the 2010 Working Mother 100 Best Companies based on an extensive application with more than 600 questions on workforce, compensation, child care, flexibility programs, leave policies and more. It also surveys the usage, availability and tracking of programs, as well as the accountability of managers who oversee them. Seven areas were measured and scored: workforce profile, benefits, women's issues and advancement, child care, flexible work, parental leave and company culture. For this year's 100 Best, particular weight was given to benefits, flexibility and parental leave.
