According to Jon Otterstatter, co-founder, president and CEO of Preventice, Schlewitz will leverage his experience in medical device sales to help Preventice capitalize on market opportunities in mobile health and remote patient monitoring.
"Dan has amassed notable expertise and success in medical device sales and cardiology that will be leveraged in targeting our mobile health and remote monitoring solutions for chronic care patients," said Otterstatter. "This industry segment is in its infancy and the knowledge Dan brings to the table can help Preventice shape the future of mobile health solutions both domestically and abroad. There is also an untapped potential for mobile technology to improve care delivery and outcomes across multiple chronic disease states, and I'm confident that Dan's leadership will help Preventice solidify its position as a leader and innovator in mobile health solutions."
Prior to joining Preventice, Schlewitz was executive vice president of sales for Biotronik, Inc., a cardiovascular medical device company. Prior to Biotronik, Schlewitz held several sales and leadership positions for Medtronic, most recently serving as vice president of U.S. sales for the neuromodulation sector. He has also held sales positions at American Hospital Supply and Xerox Corp. Schlewitz holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Iowa State University and a Masters Degree in finance from Webster University.
"I am thrilled to be joining Preventice at such a pivotal point in the health care industry," said Schlewitz. "It is only within the last couple of years that the technologies being developed by Preventice were even possible--non-invasive, unobtrusive devices that allow patients to maintain a real-time, remote connection with their physician and provide true motivation for chronic care patients to engage with their care plans."
