Press Club of Western Pennsylvania Scholarship Deadline Approaching
PITTSBURGH, Jan. 15, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The deadline is approaching for college juniors and seniors to apply for the $5,000 Bob Fryer Scholarship awarded annually by the Press Club of Western Pennsylvania.
The deadline for this year's entries is January 31.
The award is designed to encourage outstanding collegiate journalism students in print and broadcasting.
Candidates must be enrolled in an accredited university and must be able to demonstrate why they should receive the award. The primary residence must be in one of the 29 counties of Western Pennsylvania (see list below).
The scholarship money will be credited to the winner's account at their university or college. The winner also will receive a plaque in recognition of the award. The scholarship committee will review applications and select finalists. The winner will be notified by April 15.
The scholarship will be awarded at the 50th Annual Golden Quills Dinner, May 22.
