WASHINGTON, July 13, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Former Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley, who is running for the Democratic presidential nomination, will deliver a policy speech at a National Press Club Speakers Luncheon on July 23. The event will follow an altered schedule, with lunch beginning at 11:00 a.m. and remarks at 11:30 a.m.
Since announcing his candidacy in Baltimore's Federal Hill Park on May 30, O'Malley has released a jobs agenda focused on renewable energy, a higher education proposal for high-quality, debt-free college education for students attending in-state public colleges or universities, and earlier this month, an open letter to Wall Street mega-banks calling for stronger reforms. O'Malley is expected to address these and additional policy announcements at the luncheon event.
O'Malley was elected as Governor of Maryland in 2007 after serving eight years as mayor of Baltimore. Prior to that he served eight years on the Baltimore City Council and Assistant State's Attorney for the City of Baltimore. He graduated from Catholic University and earned his law degree from the University of Maryland in 1988.
