President Solis announces expansion of operations of Accenture, a services company in Costa Rica
Company will hire 300 people for new financial services division
Announcement is given under the President's visit in New York
NEW YORK, Sept. 22, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- President Luis Guillermo Solis announced today that Accenture, one of the largest consulting firms in the world and that currently has a services operation of digital technologies in Costa Rica, will expand operations generating 300 new jobs for their new financial services and accounting division. The company made the decision to continue growing in this new line of services thanks to the good results that the company has had in the country and the security of the business climate.
The announcement came as part of the investment agenda in the United States organized by the Costa Rican Investment Promotion Agency (CINDE) where the President of Costa Rica, Luis Guillermo Solis; the Minister of Foreign Trade, Alexander Mora and the Chancellor of the Republic, Jose Manuel Gonzalez along with Jose Rossi, President at CINDE; Gabriela Llobet, Director General at CINDE and Jorge Sequeira, the new appointed Director at CINDE participated.
"I am pleased to announce that the company Accenture expands operations in our country generating more high quality jobs. This government is committed and works daily to generate more competitive conditions for the attraction and expansion of foreign direct investment" said Solis Rivera, President of the Republic.
Accenture will hire 150 people in the rest of 2014, to which 150 more will be added in 2015, adding 300 to its current workforce of 600 people. "This announcement is given thanks to the work of CINDE and COMEX in their efforts to attract investment, and the commitment of this Government to provide optimal country conditions to provide stability and confidence to companies that choose to invest in our country," explained President Solis.
The Minister of Foreign Trade, Alexander Mora said Accenture's decision once again confirms that "Costa Rica has the capacity to meet the needs of multinational companies seeking quality in human resources and they see in our country the ideal destination to establish and expand their operations."
The President of the Costa Rican Investment Promotion Agency, Jose Rossi, said "we are confident that more companies will give us good news in the coming months as a result of these initiatives and the work we have been doing in CINDE in conjunction with Comex and Mr. President. We continue to work hand in hand with the Solis Administration to generate more jobs for the Costa Rican," he said.
The jobs will be filled by young technicians and professionals in areas of finance, administration, systems engineers, and people with experience in procurement and accounting among others.
