President of Honduras Appoints Special Envoy to the United States
TEGUCIGALPA, Honduras, Oct. 4, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The President of Honduras, Juan Orlando Hernandez, has appointed Arturo Corrales as Special Envoy to the United States. The former Foreign Minister is tasked with developing a greater dialogue and cooperation between the Republic of Honduras and the United States Government.

"Arturo Corrales has the full confidence and trust of my Administration and has a comprehensive understanding of Honduran policy positions and initiatives," said President Juan Orlando Hernandez. "Given his experience and his commitment to international diplomacy, the appointment of Mr. Corrales will strengthen our working relationship with United States policymakers."
Mr. Corrales has served with distinction as a public official in Honduras for more than 15 years and his positions held include Secretary of Foreign Relations and International Cooperation, and Secretary of Security. Most recently, Mr. Corrales has served as Advisor to the President.
Mr. Corrales stated that he is "honored and humbled that President Juan Orlando Hernandez has given me this important Honduras assignment," and that he "looks forward to working with the United States Government to insure that the Republic of Honduras and the United States have excellent bilateral relations."
