Premise Health Continues Focus On Patient Safety And Quality With Accreditation Association For Ambulatory Health Care, Inc.
Six New Premise Health Centers Receive Patient Centered Medical Home Designation
BRENTWOOD, Tenn., Feb. 14, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Premise Health, a leading worksite health and patient engagement company, has expanded its network accreditation through the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC) with six additional Patient Centered Medical Homes, officials announced today.
The AAAHC Patient Centered Medical Home accreditation program measures individual sites of care against rigorous national safety and quality standards for primary care. It complements the AAAHC network accreditation program, which measures an organization's compliance with nationally recognized standards of care across all of its sites.
"We originally embarked on this journey to earn AAAHC accreditation in order to confirm the superior value of care demonstrated within our health centers," said Peter Vasquez, MD, executive vice president, medical operations, for Premise Health. "Through it, we have received an invaluable framework for evaluating our approach, validating our results, and reinforcing our mission to help people get, stay and be well. We're pleased to extend that same framework to our newest health centers and the patients they serve."
This quality improvement methodology has already proven to be successful. Recently, two Premise Health primary care centers were recognized as finalists for the March 2017 Bernard A. Kershner Innovations in Quality Improvement Award. This award is presented on behalf of AAAHC and the Institute for Quality Improvement for having developed, implemented, and demonstrated a successful and measurable quality improvement program.
AAAHC first granted network accreditation to Premise Health in June 2016, recognizing the corporate organization and designating 54 of its health centers as Patient Centered Medical Homes. This new announcement brings Premise Health's total number of AAAHC-designated Patient Centered Medical Homes from 54 to 60. This is the highest number of Patient Centered Medical Homes with this distinction in the onsite health and wellness industry.
"We approach the accreditation process as an opportunity to partner with top organizations to evaluate and reinforce their processes, so they can continue to provide the high quality care patients expect and deserve," said Dorota Rakowiecki, AAAHC director of ambulatory accreditation operations. "We work with a growing number of employer-based health care organizations, like Premise Health, who strive to ensure their approaches are effective and confirmed by the medical community."
Based in Brentwood, Tenn., Premise Health manages more than 500 health and wellness centers across the country. It serves more than 200 of the nation's leading employers, including a significant number of Fortune 1000 companies.
