BRENTWOOD, Tenn., Sept. 15, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Premise Health, a leading worksite health and patient engagement company, has appointed Don Rucker, M.D., as its chief medical officer. Dr. Rucker will work to advance the company's focus on clinical quality, innovation and the patient experience.
Renowned as a pioneer in medical information and technology, Dr. Rucker previously served at Ohio State University's Wexner Medical Center as chief operating officer of the IDEA Studio and clinical professor of emergency medicine and biomedical informatics. He is board certified in emergency medicine, internal medicine and clinical informatics.

In his new role, Dr. Rucker will lead Premise Health's clinical teams and lend his expertise in biomedical informatics and data analytics to support the organization's health care technology and patient engagement initiatives.

Dr. Rucker previously spent 13 years as chief medical officer at Siemens Healthcare, where he led the design and adoption of CPOE by many U.S. hospitals. He was also a principal at Datamedic, where he helped build the first Microsoft Windows EMR in the world.
Dr. Rucker graduated magna cum laude from Harvard University with a bachelor's in chemistry and completed his medical degree at the University of Pennsylvania. He received a master of business administration and a master of science in medical computer science from Stanford University.
