SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 5, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Premise, the global leader in real-time, real-world ground truth data, announced an agreement with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to collect health data for the purpose of improving understanding of health services in eleven countries throughout Africa, Asia, and Latin America. The activities will identify and collect data about the state of health facilities, availability of family planning services, quality of vaccination sessions, patient satisfaction with and quality of services, and community immunization rates.
The approach marks a disruptive departure from traditional health data collection and analysis techniques, which have been focused on cumbersome, infrequent, annual surveys and facility-based data collection systems whose use is not mainstreamed at the community level. The information collected via mobile phones by Premise's global network of gig-economy data contributors will monitor the health system in real-time—allowing for the first time optimization of service delivery against key performance indicators. This innovative use of crowdsourcing will also facilitate more comprehensive samples than annual surveys.
"We're honored to have been chosen to provide a new stream of vital health system information to assist in critical day-to-day decision-making," commented Premise President and CEO, Maury Blackman. "By improving service delivery and through coverage optimization our clients are empowered to extend resources and reach."
