TORONTO, Oct. 8, 2014 /CNW/ - Final data from Numeris (BBM Canada) confirms that GOTHAM is the most-watched series premiere of the 2014/2015 TV season thus far, with a final audience of 3.4 million viewers on CTV, it was announced today. CTV delivered four of the Top 6 most-watched new programs during Premiere Week among total viewers. Along with CTV's HOW TO GET AWAY WITH MURDER (#2) and FOREVER (#3), GOTHAM allowed CTV to complete a clean sweep of the Top 3 new series of the week for A25-54 and A18-49, performing well beyond projected audiences among those demos and total viewers.
The announcement comes as last night's series premiere of THE FLASH on CTV ranks #3 among series debuts this fall based on preliminary overnight audiences, and is sure to become one of the top-ranked new programs of the season with final data.
Additionally, both GOTHAM and CTV's HOW TO GET AWAY WITH MURDER (3.1 million) landed among the Top 3 most-watched television programs in Canada for the week overall (along with THE BIG BANG THEORY, 3.9 million), and among the Top 4 for all key demos.
"Without a doubt this is a 'super' start to the new fall season, with GOTHAM and HOW TO GET AWAY WITH MURDER delivering giant audiences and complementing the ongoing strength of our returning programs on CTV," said Phil King - President, CTV Programming and Sports. "We look forward to building upon this momentum as the premieres continue, including last night's THE FLASH, as well as our upcoming new comedies and our robust line up of mid-season programming."
