Premiere TechWeek Conference & Expo to Highlight Innovation
Global Companies Join Innovators at Largest Technology Event in the Midwest with More Than 200 Speakers and 10,000 Attendees
CHICAGO, May 17, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- TechWeek, the nation's newest technology and innovation festival and conference, comes to Chicago on July 22-29, 2011. The week-long event will bring together global technology companies and innovators at the largest technology event in the Midwest. TechWeek will host over 200 speakers, 60 sessions across 10 subject tracks and more than 100 exhibitors.
The four-day TechWeek Conference & Expo, from July 22-25 at the Merchandise Mart in Chicago, will explore topics such as entrepreneurship, social media and consumer technology. The event's 10 conference tracks will focus on areas such as biotechnology, energy, software development, finance and advertising.
Confirmed speakers include Gian Fulgani, co-founder and Executive Chairman of comScore, Sam Yagan, CEO of OKCupid, Matt Moog, CEO of Viewpoints Network, Matt Maloney, CEO of GrubHub and others from Google, YouTube, oDesk and Rapleaf.
"Chicago has a new breed of thought-leaders who are creating solutions that make life easier for businesses and consumers," said Geoff Domoracki, CEO of midVentures, the producers of TechWeek.
"TechWeek is the first major technology festival of its kind to hit the middle of the United States, following the international success of Chicago companies such as Groupon, Sittercity, Redbox and others," added Domoracki. "The conference will offer participants the opportunity to get up-to-speed and collaborate with leaders of every major new and upcoming trend in technology."
This year, midVenturesLAUNCH, the Midwest's largest startup conference and competition, will be held on July 25, as a part of TechWeek Conference & Expo. Last year, in 2010, the competition drew over 2,000 attendees, 75 startup companies and participants from 29 states and six countries.
In addition, nominations are also being accepted for the TechWeek 100, the top 100 most influential, visionary, or disruptive technology leaders in Chicago. TechWeek is currently accepting speaker proposals until May 22.
TechWeek also will feature more than 50 independently organized events and parties that will be held around and throughout the week, including StartupWeekend, TEDxWindyCity, TiE Midwest, SPARK Chicago and TechCocktail.
