Premier Awards Sixth Consecutive Contract to Instrumentation Laboratory for Critical Care Portfolio

BEDFORD, Mass., Aug. 10, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Instrumentation Laboratory (IL) today announced that it has been awarded a three-year contract for its critical care portfolio with Premier Purchasing Partners, the group purchasing organization of the Premier healthcare alliance. This is the sixth contract Premier has awarded IL since 1998. Additionally, IL was named the sole blood gas and critical care testing supplier for ASCEND™ (Accelerated Supply Chain Endeavor) Premier member hospitals. The ASCEND program, in which a subset of Premier membership participates, is designed to help healthcare providers achieve and sustain rapid improvements in supply chain performance.
The contract covers IL's portfolio of critical care analyzers, reagents and consumables, including IL's flagship product, the GEM® Premier™ 4000 analyzer for blood gas, electrolyte and metabolite and integrated CO-Oximetry testing. This analyzer features IL's patented Intelligent Quality Management (iQM®), a real-time, automated, continuous quality assurance system. Also included, GEMweb® Plus Custom Connectivity software offers remote access to any networked analyzer for real-time supervision and status updates, as well as management of automated and operator certification and advanced regulatory compliance.
