Pre-proposal conference set for renewable and alternative energy power production contract
HUNTSVILLE, Ala., Aug. 14, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- A pre-proposal conference for the contract "Renewable and Alternative Energy Power Production for DoD Installations" will be conducted Aug. 22 at the Bob Jones Auditorium, Sparkman Center, Redstone Arsenal, Building 5300, Martin Road, Huntsville, Ala.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, through its Engineering and Support Center, Huntsville, Aug. 7 issued the Multiple-Award Task Order Contract (MATOC) Request for Proposal (RFP) for $7 billion in total contract capacity to procure reliable, locally generated, renewable and alternative energy through power purchase agreements. The $7 billion capacity would be expended for the purchase of energy over a period of 30 years or less from renewable energy plants that are constructed and operated by contractors using private sector financing.
The solicitation for the Renewable and Alternative Energy Power Production for DoD Installations is posted on the Federal Business Opportunities website at www.fbo.gov or http://go.usa.gov/Gd6.
Conference participants will hear presentations regarding the program, the scope of work, contractual considerations and small business considerations. A question-and-answer session will be allowed for the exchange of information between government presenters and contractor representatives in attendance.
The conference for potential offerors is to ensure an understanding of the government's objectives with this solicitation. All interested firms are encouraged to attend, but participation will not be a prerequisite for submitting a proposal.
Registration is first-come, first served and is restricted to two representatives from each company. Individuals not registered for the event will not have access to enter Redstone Arsenal on the date of the conference. Registration must be completed no later than Aug. 17 or until the maximum capacity is reached.
