The U.S. equity market ended on a mixed note on Friday, July 19, 2013, as some feeble earnings reports from the technology sector weighed down market sentiment. On Friday, the tech heavy NASDAQ fell 0.66% to finish the day at 3,587.61. Shares in Activision Blizzard Inc. edged lower on Friday, reversing some of their gains for the week. The company's shares oscillated between $15.48 and $15.66 before closing the day 0.32% lower at $15.53. The company's shares gained 3.46% last week and 14.61% in the last one month as compared to a gain of 0.71% and 6.26% in the S&P 500 during the respective periods. Autodesk Inc.'s stock fell sharply on Friday as the technology sector struggled. The company's shares ended the day 1.02% lower at $36.49 after oscillating between $36.34 and $36.87. A total of 2.56 million shares were traded, which is slightly below the daily average volume of 2.61 million. Despite Friday's sharp decline, the stock gained 1.35% last week, thus outperforming the S&P 500. Autodesk's shares have outperformed the S&P 500 in the last one month as well, gaining 6.68%.
