Pratt & Whitney to Provide PurePower(R) PW1000G Engines and Exclusive Long-Term Aftermarket Engine Support on Bombardier CSeries Aircraft Order for Republic Airways
EAST HARTFORD, Conn., Feb. 25 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Pratt & Whitney will provide exclusive power for 40 firm and up to 40 options for new Bombardier CSeries®* aircraft ordered by Republic Airways as part of a contract announced today. The agreement represents 80 firm PW1000G engines for CSeries aircraft with six spare engines. In addition, Republic has signed an exclusive 15-year maintenance contract with Pratt & Whitney for these engines. Pratt & Whitney is a division of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX).
Republic Airways Holdings, based in Indianapolis, Indiana, is an airline holding company that owns Chautauqua Airlines, Frontier Airlines, Lynx Aviation, Midwest Airlines, Republic Airlines and Shuttle America.

Each Bombardier CSeries aircraft is powered by two PurePower PW1000G engines with double digit reductions in fuel burn, environmental emissions, engine noise and operating costs.

This order is the fourth for the PW1000G engine, which now is slated to power up to 205 aircraft.
