Pratt & Whitney to Provide Fuel Efficient PurePower® Engines on Airbus A321neo Aircraft for Hawaiian Airlines
WEST PALM BEACH, Fla., April 11, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Pratt & Whitney will provide exclusive power for 25 Airbus A321neo aircraft for an order announced today by Hawaiian Airlines. The 16 firm and nine option aircraft order between Hawaiian Airlines and Airbus represents up to 50 fuel efficient PurePower® PW1133G-JM engines. Hawaiian Airlines also selected a long-term PureSolutionSM Fleet Management Program to maintain the engines. Pratt & Whitney is a division of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX).

The agreement between Hawaiian Airlines and Pratt & Whitney maintains the engine manufacturer's leading position on the A320neo aircraft family. The PurePower Geared Turbofan™ engine family has more than 3,500 orders that include announced and unannounced firm orders, plus options.
Now in its 84th year of continuous service, Hawaiian is Hawai'i's biggest and longest-serving airline, as well as the largest provider of passenger air service from its primary visitor markets on the U.S. mainland. Hawaiian offers nonstop service to Hawai'i from more U.S. gateway cities (11) than any other airline, along with service from Japan, South Korea, the Philippines, Australia, New Zealand, American Samoa, and Tahiti. New nonstop service will begin between Honolulu and Taipei, Taiwan on July 9, 2013 and Beijing, China on April 16, 2014. Hawaiian also provides approximately 160 daily jet flights between the Hawaiian Islands.
