Pratt & Whitney Signs Agreement with Australian Supplier Production Parts for F135 Engine Work
FARNBOROUGH, England, July 19 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- FARNBOROUGH AIR SHOW -- Pratt & Whitney signed a purchase order with Production Parts to manufacture a critical engine component for the F135 propulsion system program. This new order, signed today at the Farnborough Airshow, combined with previously awarded work, has a potential value of more than $115 million over the life of the program. Pratt & Whitney is a United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX) company.

"This work placement also enables Production Parts the opportunity, as a critical Pratt & Whitney supplier, to become part of the global sustainment solution for the F135 engine."
Pratt & Whitney awarded Production Parts a best value purchase order to manufacture the high compressor case for the F135 engine program. This component provides a portion of the outer structural backbone of the engine.

For nine years and more than 17,600 test hours, Pratt & Whitney has designed, developed and tested the F135 to deliver the most advanced fifth generation fighter engine for the U.S. Air Force, Marine Corps and Navy, as well as eight international partner countries.
The F135 propulsion system powers the F-35 Lightning II and has proven it can meet diverse aircraft requirements. The ground and flight test experience demonstrates the maturity and the associated reliability of the F135 engine for armed forces around the world.
