HAWTHORNE, N.Y., Oct. 14, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Prashant Jolepalem, M.D., is recognized by Continental Who's Who among Pinnacle Professionals in the field of Healthcare. Dr. Jolepalem is a Nuclear Medicine Physician with Westchester PET and Medical Imaging.
Different than an x-ray, MRI or ultrasound scan, a positron emission tomography (PET) scan is a state-of-the-art medical imaging technology that grants medical professionals the ability to visualize abnormal cellular activity throughout the body.
In this position for three years, Dr. Jolepalem is a nuclear medicine specialist with expertise in oncologic and neurologic imaging using hybrid imaging including PET-CT and SPECT-CT.
Board Certified by the American Board of Nuclear Medicine, Dr. Jolepalem has authored over twenty peer-reviewed research articles. He is the recipient of the Robert E. Henkin Fellowship Award in 2016 by the Society of Nuclear Medicine and the Roentgen Resident research award in 2014 from the Radiological Society of North America. In addition, he has presented several award winning abstracts at national and regional meetings.
A member of the American College of Nuclear Medicine, Dr. Jolepalem serves on several subcommittees with the Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging in his time outside of work. He also enjoys hiking, playing golf and quality family time.
Beginning his educational career with his Bachelor's degree in Economics from the University of Michigan, Dr. Jolepalem went on to attain his Medical degree from Saint Matthew's University School of Medicine. He then completed his Transitional Residency at St. Joseph Mercy Oakland and Nuclear Medicine Residency at William Beaumont Hospital.
