NEW YORK, Dec. 16, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Practising Law Institute (PLI) introduces the BD/IA: Regulation in Focus blog, an innovative, multifaceted platform designed to keep broker-dealers and investment advisers abreast of the legal perspectives on current regulatory developments in the industry.
The blog will serve as a companion to PLI's widely read broker-dealer and investment adviser Treatises, and to our current Seminars and One-Hour Briefings. Clifford E. Kirsch, Editor/Author of the Treatises, will also serve as Editor of the blog. Mr. Kirsch is a partner with the law firm Sutherland Asbill & Brennan LLP in New York City, where he regularly counsels clients on broker-dealer and adviser regulatory matters, as well as on the design and distribution of investment products, including wrap-fee programs and other advisory products, mutual funds, bank collective investment funds and insurance products. He also focuses on issues related to the design and implementation of compliance programs at financial services firms. The blog will feature posts contributed by Mr. Kirsch and other leading industry experts on developments as they relate to broker-dealers and investment advisers in the areas of compliance, enforcement, international issues, and regulation. PLI's Senior Program Attorneys Lauren E. Nochta and Grace E. O'Hanlon will assist Mr. Kirsch as Editors of the blog.
"I am excited to work with PLI in launching this new blog. We're planning to provide frequent updates and practical analysis of the key developments important to broker-dealers and investment advisers, and we hope the blog will be another helpful tool for BD and adviser practitioners that will supplement PLI's broker-dealer and adviser Treatises and Programs."
– Clifford E. Kirsch, Practising Law Institute Editor/Author
"I am pleased to announce the launch of PLI's BD/IA: Regulation in Focus blog and look forward to the insights of Clifford E. Kirsch and our team of volunteer contributors. Broker-dealers and investment advisers will find this to be a comprehensive resource in their financial toolbox."
