PRA International Expert to Present at Late Phase Event

RALEIGH, N.C., Feb. 22, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- PRA International, a leading Clinical Research Organization, announces that one of its Late Phase experts will speak at the 7th Annual Summit in Late Phase Research being held in London, United Kingdom from 23-24 February 2011.

Maria Harrison, Vice President of PRA's Late Phase Services group, will deliver a presentation on 24 of February entitled "Exploring Future Strategies for Observational Research".  Her presentation will feature key factors for optimizing observational study conduct and improving data collection in today's late phase environment.  Ms. Harrison will discuss the problems that arise from misalignment of late phase study objectives with operational execution, illustrate the impact of current industry challenges, identify potential solutions and offer recommendations for future success.

Ms. Harrison has over 20 years of experience in managing all aspects of drug development in both the pharmaceutical and contract research organization industries.  In her current role, she is responsible for the operational growth and development of PRA's Late Phase Services group.  Throughout her career, Ms. Harrison has managed numerous clinical trials on a global basis across all phases of development.  

PRA's Late Phase Services group supports global and regional post-approval studies with management locations centralized in PRA's Horsham, Pennsylvania and Mannheim, Germany offices.  This highly experienced team assists clients with the post-marketing process by planning and conducting safety-surveillance studies, large simple trials, registries, restricted access programs, risk management programs, and diagnostic and biomarker research.
