PPL Corporation Names VP-Finance and Treasurer

ALLENTOWN, Pa., May 17, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- PPL Corporation (NYSE: PPL) announced Thursday (5/17) that a 22-year financial veteran with international experience is joining the company as its Vice President-Finance and Treasurer.

Mark F. Wilten, currently treasurer for Nissan North America and Nissan Motor Acceptance Corporation in Franklin, Tenn., will join PPL June 4, reporting to Paul A. Farr, PPL's executive vice president and chief financial officer.

"He will provide important leadership as we execute financing plans to significantly grow PPL's regulated asset base over the next several years."

James E. Abel, PPL's long-time treasurer, retired April 1. Farr has been serving as treasurer on an interim basis since Abel's retirement.

Wilten has been with Nissan since 2008 and has served as its treasurer since August of 2010. Prior to joining Nissan, he served as group treasurer for Kensington Group plc, a mortgage company based in London.

He started his career at J.P. Morgan Chase in 1989 and held a variety of positions in New York, Toronto and London before moving to Deutsche Bank in 1997 as associate director of the European Securitization Group. He also worked at WestLB AG, London, rising to the position of executive director of the Principal Finance and Asset Securitization Group, and served as executive director of Securitization at Rabobank International in London, before joining Kensington in 2004.

Wilten, who grew up in Chatham, N.J., earned a B.A. in economics from Tufts University and an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago.
